Better Than Roses

There is something so special when an animal experiences proper love and care after being left to fend for themselves. Whether it be a case of being found outside, doing their best to survive, or sadly they are simply not shown the love they deserve to get in their home. 

That was the case for senior kitty Citrus who was found wandering the streets, alone and in pain. Upon arrival, this gal didn't want to be touched and was often hiding away. She was taken to the vet where it was revealed that Citrus was suffering from arthritis and oral masses. 

With a lot of tender loving care, Citrus started to trust a little bit more each day. Medical treatments alleviated her pain, and the once untouchable feline became a different cat entirely. Comfortable enough to seek out snuggles and pets, Citrus blossomed into an absolute sweetheart. 

After two months of patiently waiting for a forever home, a special person walked through the shelter doors in search of an older cat yearning for a quiet home to relax and live out their days. Stepping into Citrus's room, the connection was instant. In that moment, Citrus's past of pain and loneliness was replaced by the promise of a loving home.       

Citrus was shown the kindness she hadn't known, and now thrives in the warmth of a home that she can truly call her own.

This gift is better than roses, it provides a day of care for stray or abandoned animals like Citrus, who have found themselves in situations alone and desperately need to be shown the love they deserve.
