Love for a Mom

Nothing can replace the love from a mother. Expecting moms like Mavis arrive at the shelter needing warmth, comfort, and care to safely bring their babies into the world. 

Mavis had been spotted wandering alone for weeks, curled up on the porch of her caring rescuers, her swollen belly a quiet plea for help. Gently brought to the nearest BC SPCA, she was placed in a loving foster home where she could nest and prepare for her kittens. 

About a week later, Mavis gave birth to six healthy kittens, and heartbreakingly, one little soul who didn't survive. After giving birth, Mavis faced her own health challenges, needing urgent vet care, medications, and monitoring as she recovered. With caring hearts like yours, this little family has been able to receive all the loving care they need as they gain their strength.
